Gulfstream G700 vs. Bombardier Global 7500: Similarities and Differences
The Gulfstream G700 was unveiled on October 21 at the NBAA in Las Vegas, with the first aircraft promised to Qatar Executive in 2022. The Global 7500 was successfully certified on October 1 and is expected to be operational by the end of the year. Flight range and cabin size are the key strengths of this new aircraft. The flagship models of both manufacturers are the largest in their class, can cover long-haul routes from Los Angeles to Sydney and Beijing to Cape Town and are constantly setting new records. The Global 7500, for example, upped its range by 370 km before the first delivery.
Both aircraft are similar in size and performance, but they were born with different DNA: the Gulfstream G700 is the successor to the popular G650 series, whose aircraft revolutionized business aviation in terms of speed and range, while the Global 7500 is an updated model of the Global 7000, one of the most keenly anticipated business jets in history, with the longest flight range and longest cabin in the industry.

One could argue that a difference of 2.2 million at a cost of more than 70 million per plane is not that big, and the G700 is only 3% more expensive than the Global 7500. However, there is a psychological barrier related to the cost of the Gulfstream G700 – even if you are a billionaire, 72.8 million may be much easier to invest than 75.
Cabin length

The Gulfstream G700 and Global 7500 are the largest dedicated business jets on the market and as such have large cabins. Although the Global 7500 fuselage is longer than that of the G700, the G700 cabin is longer, taller and wider. Both aircraft can carry a maximum of 19 people, although the G700 cabin layout can be configured with five separate living areas, while the Global 7500 can currently only contain four living areas.

The flight range difference between the two aircraft is only 370 km, with the Global 7500 coming out on top. As noted earlier, Bombardier increased its range by 370 km before the first Global 7500 was released, so perhapsGulfstream will do the same with the G700 as it did with the previous models – the G280, G450, G500, G600 and G650 – unless, of course, Gulfstream is planning to release an extended-range ER version like it did with the G650.
It is also worth noting that while the Global 7500's maximum range is 14,260 km, the jet flew non-stop between Detroit and Sydney in early October 2019, a distance of just over 15,100 km, which is a business jet range record.

Takeoff distance

The manufacturer figures for the takeoff distance required for each aircraft at maximum take-off weight (MTOW) confirm that the Global 7500 is a clear winner as it requires 130 m less to take off. Unfortunately, the landing distance of the G700 is not currently known, while the the Global 7500 requires 860 m.
Gulfstream has a reputation for not only delivering on its promises during new aircraft launches, but also for often exceeding expectations. As such, since all the specifications of the Gulfstream G700 have not yet been released, it is difficult to make a full comparison between the two aircraft. So far, on paper, the Global 7500 is leading in price and range, costing less and flying further. The G700, on the other hand, has the largest cabinin its class.
